VSO
Bahaginan
VSO
is an international development organization that works through,
and with, volunteers. We promote volunteering to fight poverty
and disadvantage, bringing people from different cultures together
to share skills, creativity and learning to build a fairer world.
VSO
volunteers live and work alongside colleagues in Africa, Asia,
the Caribbean and the Pacific. Since 1958, more than 30,000
volunteers have shared their skills overseas through VSO, working
in the areas of education, HIV and AIDS, disability, health
and social well-being, secure livelihoods, and participation
and governance.
VSO
responds to needs identified by our partners overseas, and seeks
to recruit, prepare and place volunteers in response to requests
from those partners. More than 1,500 VSO volunteers are currently
working in 30 of the world’s poorest countries. VSO is
the largest international volunteering of its kind in the world.
VSO
Bahaginan, the National Partner Agency of VSO in the Philippines,
leads the convergence of people to share skills, creativity
and learning by sending committed youth and professionals to
volunteer in developing countries, and promoting national volunteering
in the Asia-Pacific region, to build a fairer world. It is registered
as a non-stock, non-profit organization with the Philippines
Securities and Exchange Commission.
